Cable-Rake Bar Screen

DCV-R Cable-Rake Bar Screen by EMO

A stationary coarse bar screen for installation in the bottom of sump shafts, which is periodically cleaned by a cable-driven rake.

MANUFACTURER

APPLICATION

  • Deep wastewater channels
  • Pump stations or sump shafts requiring coarse screening
  • Municipal wastewater
  • Industrial waste streams with large nuisance solids

ADVANTAGES

  • No critical mechanical parts submerged in the flow stream
  • Can handle large quantities of heavy coarse screenings
  • Allows finer screenings and grit to pass through the screen, capturing only large nuisance solids
  • Movement and positiong of cleaning rake is steady due to 3-cable operation
  • The rake can stop and open at any position along the downwards movement, clearing debris from storm and flood conditions
  • Suitable for deep, difficult channels
  • Operates in auto, remote or manual modes

The DCV-R cable-rake screen is a fixed-width bar screen installed in a flow channel. A header with the cleaning rake, drive motor, drive cables and position sensors sits above the operating floor.

Large debris is collected on the front of the bar screen in the flow stream. As dictated by water level (or manually), the open rake is lowered by the cable down the screen frame to the bar screen. The rake closes when it reaches the bottom of the bar screen, trapping collected debris between the rake and the screen. The rake then retracts and carries the screenings up the screen frame to the header box where an ejector blade discharges the screenings from the rake into surface-level skip bin.
