FINNCHAIN SLUDGE SCRAPERSSuperior Sludge Scrapers for Rectangular Sedimentation TanksThe internationally patented FINNCHAIN system is based on high quality materials and components. Every detail is carefully designed aiming at a system which is maintenance free and has a long service life. All components in the FINNCHAIN system are corrosion resistant. Material were chosen focusing on actual need: wear-prone parts are made of plastic materials, whereas static parts requiring high strength are made of stainless or acid resistant steel. A well executed installation greatly contributes to trouble free system operation. Special attention in the system design has therefore been paid to simplify installation and ease of maintenance:-
Due to the overall light-weight construction the power consumption is noticeably less than with chain-based systems. Depending on the tank size and amount of sludge a 0.25/0.75kW motor is sufficient to drive the FINNCHAIN system. All motors are supplied with a frequency inverter for easy speed adjustment. Low power consumption and operation costs, easy handling and long life make the FINNCHAIN system the best choice and investment available. Basic Types of Finnchain Scraper Systems
TYPE A is commonly used in both primary and secondary sedimentation tanks for bottom sludge collection to one end of the tank with an integrated scum skimming to the opposite end. The system comprises four sprockets per tank side. TYPE B is preferred for bottom - sludge collection as the chains and flights may be easily inspected and serviced at/ above water surface. The system comprises three sprockets per tank side.
TYPE C may be used as bottom scraper in the presence of lamellas, tubes or other obstacles in the tank. In this system the chain runs over two sprocket wheels per tank side.
TYPE D is a special type for tanks needing scum skimming only, e.g. flotation tanks. All flights are furnished with a rubber blade for sweeping the scum over a ramp. As attachment to tank walls is normally not possible, various support structures need to be constructed.
TYPE E illustrates a grit scraper in which the standard glass fibre flight and the plastic guide rail materials are replaced by stainless steel.
TYPE F is referred as a cross collector for sludge removal from sludge hoppers / channels.
