VOR GRIT CLASSIFIERThe VoR Grit Classifier provides the perfect solution for slurries and wet mixtures as it traps sedimentary particles and dewaters them before discharging them. It is indispensable for grit handling in sewage treatment plants and for sand, bark and metal pollutants in paper mills. Working principle. The incoming wastewater is pumped through the inlet (1) into the decantation hopper (2) of the separator at intervals of five to ten minutes. Overflow water leaves the hopper through the water outlet (3). Sedimentation takes place during the next five to ten minutes, after which the drive unit (4) rotates the spiral {5) slowly for two to five minutes. The dewatered particles are discharged through outlet (6). The separator can be emptied by opening the drain valve (7).
The pumping, sedimentation and screw rotation intervals depend upon the size and type of particles as well as the result desired.
